Woman Sentenced To 30 Years
Denise Harvey, 40, of Vero Beach, was sentenced to 30 years in state prison for having sex with a 16-year-old who was a high school friend and baseball teammate her son's.
A barbaric sentence - and, also, another example of a judge giving a separate sentence for each count of the offence; a bit like the man who got 200 years in prison for having some 15 illicit images on his computer (some 15 years for each image).
Why not give this particular woman 1,000 years?
After all, each 'thrust' would have been illegal!

Harry -- this make me think of Lew Rockwell's excellent article on Sarah Palin that you linked on your main page.
He points out Sarah Palin as a decent, caring, intelligent human being who will inevitably change:
Good people become part of the party machine and surrender all their principles in order to survive.
Libertarian politicians have "surrendered their principles" (or just those who had any principles in the first place) in order to gain power or to remain in power. This is why the American justice system imposes ludicrous sentences like 200 years for social deviation. The politicians who bring out these laws and draconian penalties are feeding the frenzied taste for vengence of the large numbers of idiots who collectively have a lot of voting power.
And the same is happening in the UK.
VERY worrying.
